How to Decide What Style of Fencing is Right
You will eventually have decisions when it comes to colors, products, add-ons, gates, etc, but you will start out with two main choices.
You will have two big decisions. The initial choice relates to privacy. Would you like a solid structure which provides privacy, or a structure a person can see through. Following that decision, you can select which building materials to use during construction.
Choice of Materials Here in Spokane County:
Chain Link – normally one of the affordable choices. It is usually the fastest and simplest to set up. May include a galvanized option. Galvanized options feature a heavy zinc coating, so no rust issues.
Wood Split Rail – wood poles installed horizontally and vertically. No privacy or security. Has a country feel to it. Normally residential. Uses the lowest amount of material. An inexpensive alternative, especially for large areas.
Barbed Wire – very effective for security situations. Not very attractive.
Aluminum – resistant to cracking, chipping and peeling, no maintenance.
Metal – durable, built to last and dependable. Resistant to our weather. Lots of design alternatives and various costs to select from. Can be ornamental.
Vinyl Coated Chain Link – chain link covered by a shiny, protective vinyl coat. It’s maintenance free. Generally offered in colors such as green and black.
Ornamental Iron, Aluminum or Steel – a big assortment of styles, designs and accessories including gates. Nice looking but more expensive.
Vinyl – affordable, low maintenance, durable and keeps its look and color for years. Comes in a range of textures and accessories. Good for privacy.
Composite – similar to vinyl, but often is a combination of synthetic PVC and recycled wood fibers made to mimic the look of timber. It is resistant to mold, cracking, and rotting. Good for privacy.
Barbed Wire – very effective for security situations. Not so attractive.
Wood Picket – old-fashioned and ageless. Frequently cedar. Not very weatherproof or maintenance free.
Wood or Timber – classic warmth and traditional style. Blends well with nature. Can be terrific for privacy situations. Needs periodic maintenance.
California Chain Link – a hybrid style using chain link fencing, but having lumber posts and wood beams as opposed to the standard steel posts and beams.
Accessories and Gates
Most owners add a handful of extras to their project. These may include options for security and access, including locks and gates.
There are plenty of security add-ons. You can install a locking access gate for either pedestrians or driveway access. And then you can decide on different kinds of controllers to open, close, lock and unlock those gates.
A lot of the rest of the available additions relate to increasing the physical appearance of your project.
Finials and post caps are routine decorative accessories. They are attached to the top of flat posts. Finials add flair to a squared-off post. Caps can do the same thing, but since they go over the entire top, they actually protect timber posts from snow and rain.
If your fence is metal, coordinating scrolls may be attached to picket sections or gates to add extra interest.
Temporary Security Fencing in Spokane
Do you want to have security and safety fencing only temporarily?
Building work sites, individual events and other forms of outside projects frequently need a protective fence for only a short amount of time.
We will arrange, deliver, put together, maintain and, in the end, dismantle a temporary system that works to guard or control what you need done.

Installing fencing, especially making certain that all the sections are straight and level with one another, even on slopes, is not that easy.
A professional builder with a record of completing a variety of projects has learned all about the trickiest aspects of the installation process which could mess up a less-experienced builder.
Should I Do the Installation Myself?
Unless you and a few buddies have sufficient free time and you’ve carried out projects like this in the past, it probably wouldn’t be a good idea to tackle this by yourself.
A small building team understands how to coordinate the entire process so it proceeds smoothly and important problems are prevented.
The bottom line is this – you don’t want your new fence to look like it was built by somebody who wasn’t very good at it. You need it to be straight and level and look really nice.
